Finished orchard compost cut with bark and coir. Fill a bed once and plant into it the same afternoon without amending further.
Most bagged raised-bed soil is peat, sand, and a token amount of compost. This one leads with the compost, because that is the ingredient we make and the one that actually determines whether a bed produces in its second year.
Bark fines give structure so the bed drains instead of compacting into a brick. Coir holds water without the extraction footprint of peat. Perlite keeps the whole thing open enough to root into.
